DERA GHAZI KHAN: Health Minister Khwaja Salman Rafique has launched a flood risk management survey in Dera Ghazi Khan division.

The launch ceremony was held at the DG Khan Arts Council on Monday.

The survey, to be completed in two phases over nine months, will focus on hill torrents and the rivers across Punjab.

In Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur, the task will be completed within two months.

Conducted jointly by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and the Urban Unit, the survey would use satellite and modern technologies, with trained enumerators collecting household data.

The data will aid in flood planning, relief efforts, and AI-based early warning systems, as well as updating property records and supporting zoning decisions. Around 180 personnel will conduct the survey at 19 critical points and 13 hill torrents using a mobile app and satellite analysis.
