LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) secretary general Barrister Salman Akram Raja visited former MPA Mian Akram Usman and Ebad Farooq on Sunday, who were released after completing their two-year term in the military prison in May 9 related cases.

Party leaders and workers showered rose petals and garlanded them on their arrival at home.

Mr Raja met Mr Usman at his residence along with other party leaders and congratulated him on his release from military detention and his steadfastness on PTI ideology and loyalty towards party founder Imran Khan.

Mr Usman said he had undergone two years of unlawful imprisonment but his resolve for the party, the founder and the people of Pakistan never wavered.

“This was not a punishment but an honour for me to stand by my leader Imran Khan. The prayers of the people of Pakistan and my constituency gave me the resilience to stay on this path,” he said.

Expressing his resolve to continue standing with his leader, Mr Usman said, “My release isn’t just my victory but a triumph for everyone who, despite the challenges of this era, raised their voice for the rule of law and the future of our children.”

Other party leaders, including MNA Sardar Latif Khosa, MNA Arshad Sahi, deputy secretary general Insaf Youth Wing Faran Chaudhry and other office-bearers from Lahore, visited Mr Usman and congratulated him on his release.

Mr Raja and other party leaders also visited Mr Farooq at his

residence and congratulated him on his release from “unlawful detention”.
