MARDAN: Mohammad Ayaz, a martyr official of Pakistan Air Force, was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in native Ganjay vaillge of Takht Bhai tehsil here on Sunday.

He was performing duty as radar technician at Sargodha airbase of Pakitan Air Force when one of the Indian drones targeted the airbase. He was martyred in the attack.

His funeral prayers were offered at the ground of Ganjay school. Family members, officials and a large number of people of his native village and surrounding areas attended his funeral.

Provincial Minister for Food Zahir Shah Toru, MNA Ali Mohammad Khan, Adviser to Chief Minister Ihtisham Khan, MPA Iftikhar Ali Mishwani and Deputy Commissioner Dr Azmatullah Wazir were also present on the occasion.

The martyr PAF official is survived by a widow and two children. His body was shifted from Sargodha to Risalpure airbase in a helicopter then it was taken to his native village in an ambulance. People were standing along both sides of road in a large number to shower flowers on his coffin.

Locals termed his martyrdom a pride for Mardan district. They lauded the family that the PAF martyr and claimed that no one could harm Pakistan when such sons of soil rendered sacrifices for their homeland.
