RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi police hoisted the national flag in all police stations, offices, mobile vans, and Police Lines Headquarters, expressing solidarity with the Pakistan Army and citizens on Saturday.

A police spokesman said that the national flag was hoisted high in all police stations, offices, mobile vehicles, and police lines headquarters.

The purpose of hoisting the national flag was to express the determination to protect the beloved homeland and to pay tribute to the armed forces of Pakistan, said the spokesman.

Rawalpindi Police is fully prepared and determined to deal with any situation in the current circumstances, the spokesman said.

Rawalpindi Police stands by the side of the Pakistani forces and will never hesitate to make any sacrifice to protect the motherland, the spokesman added.

In view of the security situation and crashing down of two drones in Rawalpindi which left one person killed and two others injured on Thursday – the local police have established a Control Room at premises of office of the City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi to coordinate with the authorities in case if enemy drone is reported hovering or falling down in the district.

The control room will receive reports regarding enemy drones, fighter jets, just seen hovering, flying, or falling down in the district, and to convey the situation to high-ups after obtaining permission from the competent authorities. The control room functioned around the clock with the increasing tension between India and Pakistan.

Following the drone incidents in the garrison city, the security level has been placed on high alert and patrolling of Elite Force commandos around sensitive installations has also been increased.
