MIANWALI, May 3: Three convicts, schoolteacher Abdullah, Ahmad Sher and Muhammad Khan, were executed in the central jail here on Wednesday morning.

The convicts were sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment along with capital punishment.

According to details, 14 people were booked in 1991 for killing four of their relatives Ghulam Husain, Muhammad Khan, Sher Samad and Ghana Khan, over a petty dispute in Khushab. A court convicted Abdullah, Ahmad Sher, Muhammad Khan and Muhammad Afzal and acquitted the others by giving them the benefit of the doubt. Afzal died in the prison while the other three were hanged on Wednesday morning.

Their execution was postponed thrice on the request of their family for attempts to reach a compromise with the aggrieved family.

Black warrants were issued on April 19 by the Mianwali district and session judge.
