KARACHI: The Prime Minister of Bharat, Mr Jawaharlal Nehru, will visit the Capital of the Federation of Pakistan for the first time on April 26. He will stay in Karachi for two days and will return to New Delhi on April 28. Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan, it is understood, has invited the Prime Minister of Bharat to come to Karachi before the former left for America on April 29. ... The two Prime Ministers … had agreed that they should meet from time to time to review the Delhi Agreement on minorities and to discuss “other problems of common concern”.

In view of the success of the Delhi talks heralded as the precursor of a new understanding between the two countries, Karachi circles expressed a marked optimism about the outcome of the forthcoming Liaquat-Nehru talks. They hoped that more outstanding issues between the two countries would be successfully ironed out by the two statesmen and it would not be long before all issues were peacefully settled.

The growth of friendly and good neighbourly relations between the two countries, it was pointed out, was essential not only in the interest of both countries ... [but also] in the interest of world peace.
