RAWALPINDI: PTI Punjab chief organiser Aliya Hamza Malik, along with two other political activists, was arrested by Rawalpindi police and shifted to a women’s police station late Friday night.

According to police sources, Aliya Hamza and two workers, including Sameer Abbasi, were detained from the Gulzar-i-Quaid area. The arrests were made in connection with a case registered on multiple charges.

A senior police official confirmed the arrests and said the PTI leader was transferred to the women’s police station shortly after being taken into custody.

Aliya Hamza was appointed as the chief organiser of PTI Punjab by the party’s founder Imran Khan in January this year.

Her arrest follows a protest she organised in Rawalpindi on Friday, expressing solidarity with Palestine and condemning the ongoing war in Gaza.

A legal team from the police was in session to determine the registration of a First Information Report against the PTI leader, a police official said.
