LAKKI MARWAT: A cleric was killed over the ownership of a seminary in Serai Naurang town here on Friday, the police said.

They identified the deceased as Maulana Hasan Shah, 62, and said the murder occurred inside the seminary. They said that the suspected killer escaped the scene after the incident.

A complainant, Sadia Bibi told police that Shoaib Shah was not happy over transferring of the seminary’s ownership in the name of her husband by their father.

“Shoaib opened fire on Hasan Shah, killing him on the spot,” she maintained.

The police said the body was handed over to relatives after completing medico-legal formalities at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Serai Naurang.

Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak police station registered a case and began an investigation.

Separately, a man killed his brother in Serai Gambila town on Friday, the police said.

They said Hafeezullah was seriously injured when his brother Jalil Khan attacked him with an iron rod.

They said the injured was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital, where he died during treatment. The police began an investigation after registering a case against the alleged killer.
