KARACHI: Pakistan Petroleum Ltd (PPL) and Metso Corporation of Finland, a global leader in sustainable technologies and services for the minerals processing industry, have entered a strategic collaboration to advance mineral exploration and processing across Pakistan.

A press release issued on Saturday said that the landmark memorandum of understanding was exchanged in the presence of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir between PPL Managing Director and CEO Imran Abbasy and Metso Corporation Director Lauri Pesonen.

The MoU was earlier signed during the Pakistan Mineral Investment Forum 2025 held in Islamabad.

The PPL chief said the collaboration with Metso signalled a bold leap toward harnessing Pakistan’s untapped mineral wealth using world-class technology and expertise. The MoU sets the stage for joint initiatives in capacity building, technology transfer, and feasibility studies that will drive investment, create employment, and uplift the mineral value chain across Pakistan.
