LAHORE: Oman pulled off a stunning 3-1 victory over 15th-ranked Pakistan in the second match of their four-match hockey series, leveling the tie at 1-1 here at the National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.

Mahmood Ashur, Rashid Saleem and Fahad Hasan scored for Oman, while captain Sufyan Ali — who scored a hat-trick in the opening match of the series on Tuesday — netted the solitary consolation goal for the hosts.

The win marked a major upset for the 28th-ranked Omanis, who had lost the opening match 4-3. The series resumes on Friday in Islamabad.
