KARACHI, May 1: The body of an old woman was found from her apartment in Jamshed Quarters police limits on Sunday. Police reached the 2nd floor of the Rabia Crown centre after neighbours had complained about a stench emanating from the apartment.

The police broke open the door and found a 70-year-old, Zubaida Zahir, dead. Her body was sent to hospital for autopsy late night.

The police suspected that the woman was strangled to death. The motive for the killing and further details could not be ascertained immediately.

DIES: A young woman died after she was hit by a train near Drigh Road station on Sunday.

Police said the body was mutilated as she had been hit by a speeding train. Her body was shifted to hospital for autopsy.

Police are investigating into the incident to know as to whether it was an accident or if the unidentified woman, in her early 20s, had committed suicide.
