PESHAWAR: A religious scholar was killed and another injured when unidentified persons opened fire at them here on Monday, the police said.
The incident took place on Dora Road in the jurisdiction of Pishtakhara police station, according to a statement.
It said unidentified persons targeted Qari Ijaz and Shahid.
Ijaz died on the spot, while Shahid sustained injuries.
The police shifted the body and the injured to hospital.
The statement said the police launched a search in the area for the arrest of the attackers.
