Policeman injured in Bannu militant attack

LAKKI MARWAT: A policeman was injured in an armed attack by militants in the township area of Bannu district on Sunday.

A police official said the injured cop, Atif, was deployed in the police’s Counter-Terrorism Department.

He said the wounded policeman was immediately transported to the Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital, where his condition was stated to be out of danger.

Meanwhile, the newly-posted district police officer Saleem Abbas Kulachi visited the hospital and enquired after the CTD official.

In Lakki Marwat, a home-made bomb planted by unknown miscreants outside a house in Gul Waliabad locality exploded on Saturday night. A police official said the blast caused damage to the main gate and boundary wall of the house, but the inmates remained safe.

The official said two inmates of the house were employed in the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force, respectively.
