ARMY Chief Gen Asim Munir exchanges Eid greetings with troops in South Waziristan.—PPI

SOUHT WAZIRISTAN/DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir said the armed forces’ commitment and resilience not only secured the homeland but also exemplified their love for the country.

The army chief said this during his visits to South Waziristan and Dera Ismail Khan districts on Eidul Fitr where he met the troops employed on the Western border, read an official statement issued by the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations, on Wednesday.

The ISPR said the army chief offered Eid prayers, and prayed for the enduring stability and prosperity of the country. Dur­ing his interaction, the COAS extended warm Eid greetings to the troops, lauding their unwavering dedication and exemplary service to the nation.

“Your commitment and resilience not only secure our homeland but also exemplify your profound love for Pakistan,” the statement quoted the army chief as saying on the occasion.

The army chief appreciated the performance of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies alongside the Khyber Pakh­tunkhwa residents who had always braved against the menace of militancy, attributing their achievements to the sacrifices of the martyrs and those who were committed towards the greater cause of peace and stability.

Upon his arrival, the army chief was received by the corps commander Peshawar.
