The Israeli military says “a terrorist responsible for launching projectiles toward communities near the Gaza Strip was identified and struck”, after reports earlier that one projectile was intercepted and another landed in the Zimrat community, Al Jazeera reports.
The army “struck the structure [in Gaza] from which the projectiles were launched”, as well as “two additional launch sites”, it said.
The statement did not specify where the strikes took place. Israel earlier issued a forced displacement order for all residents of Gaza City’s Zeitoun, Tal al-Hawa and Sheikh Ijlin neighbourhoods.
