SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A doctor working with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), who was kidnapped in Lower South Waziristan district a month ago, was freed on Monday.

Sources confirmed that Dr Nauman Khattak was kidnapped by militants during a free medical camp organised by PRCS at the health centre in Azam Warsak last month.

The Lower South Waziristan deputy commissioner confirmed Dr Khattak’s release, stating that after the completion of initial investigation, the doctor was sent home.

In addition to Dr Khattak’s abduction, two customs officers, superintendent Nisar Abbas and inspector Khushal, still remain untraced after being kidnapped a month ago near the Angoor Adda border.

The officers were abducted by armed men in Sholam area when they were returning from the border.
