Israeli forces are renewing their attacks on the cities of Khan Younis and Rafah in Gaza, taking the death toll since the early hours of the morning to 16, Al Jazeera correspondents report.

In Khan Younis, tents and homes housing displaced Palestinians to the east and west of the city are under attack.

At least six people were killed when Israeli forces bombed their tent in Khan Younis, and four others were killed when the soldiers raided a home in the Maen area of the city, Al Jazeera said earlier today.

Another six were also wounded in Israeli attacks on their cars, it added.
