LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Sunday organised “Pakistan Zindabad rallies” across various cities in the province.

Following rejection of PTI’s request to hold a mass political rally at Minar-i-Pakistan ground, PTI Punjab chief organiser Aliya Hamza Malik had given a call that party leaders, office-bearers, workers and supporters should come out on roads and stage “Pakistan Zindabad rallies”.

According to reports, the PTI leaders and workers organised rallies and bike-rallies in various cities, while holding Pakistan’s and party flags. The party workers chanted slogans that Imran Khan should be released from the Adiala Jail.

The Punjab police, on the other hand, continued raiding the residences of PTI leaders and workers and arrested several workers.

Ms Malik tweeted that “this cowardly government is afraid of even Pakistan Day rallies and went on to state that it had lost a battle against Imran Khan, incarcerated in Adiala Jail.”

She instructed that all facing such raids should submit applications with the police stations concerned against the policemen desecrating the sanctity of the four walls and stopping them from holding Pakistan Day rallies.

The PTI workers staged a rally near party founder Imran Khan’s residence at Zaman Park and chanted slogans that they would get “real independence” under the leadership of Imran Khan as this nation realised the dream of independent Pakistan seen at Pakistan Resolution Day in 1940. They chanted slogans in favour of Pakistan and Imran Khan as they carried PTI flags. A large rally was also organised at Kashmiri Bazaar, Lahore.

The PTI also posted videos of rallies organised in Mandi Bahauddin, Khushab, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Kashmiri Bazaar, Lahore, Tandlianwala, Narowal, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Marree and other cities. The PTI Youth North organised Iftar near Adiala Jail.
