MUZAFFARGARH: Chowk Sarwar Shaheed Patrolling Police recovered 20 maund dead animal meat from a van at Riazabad Chowk.

Patrol Police arrested the driver of the van on the spot while the dead animal meat was being transported from Chowk Azam for supply to a local hotel in Multan. Action will also be taken against the butchers involved in Chowk Azam.

On being informed, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) also reached the spot and launched legal action. Patrol Police and the PFA disposed of the dead meat.

INQUIRY: An inquiry has been launched into the charges against an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) for making an objectionable demand from a citizen for releasing his motorcycle from the police station.

In the alleged audio call that went viral, ASI Khizar, posted at the Rangpur Police Station, was asking the citizen to kiss him to get back his motorcycle that was confiscated by the police.

According to a police spokesperson, DPO Dr Rizwan took notice of the incident and issued a show-cause notice to the ASI and appointed DSP City as the inquiry officer.
