SWABI: Four people were killed in different incidents here on Saturday, the police said.

In Maina Banda area, a man identified as Khanan Khan, 68, was seriously injured in firing and was brought to the District Headquarters Hospital in critical condition. However, he was pronounced dead by doctors.

Officials at the Swabi city police station said the cause of the incident was not known, and that an FIR had not yet been registered.

However, it was learnt that he was shot while filming a TikTok video.

In another incident, a young man, identified as Farman Khan, was allegedly killed by his son-in-law in Dagai village of Razaar tehsil.

Kalu Khan police station officials said there was a property dispute between the accused and the deceased.

Meanwhile, Irfan Khan, 40, of Hamzakhel area, was seriously injured when unidentified assailants opened fire at him on Saturday, the police.

Later, he succumbed to his injuries in the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

Separately, Basit Khan, who hailed from Rashaksi village, was critically injured when his rival opened fire on him. He was taken to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Kalu Khan police station officials said the cause of the killing was an old enmity, and an FIR had been registered into the case.

SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES: A policeman who was critically injured in Swabi city police station blast on Sept 26 last year succumbed to his injuries in Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar on Sunday.

The Swabi police station was damaged in the blast, resulting in killing of two people and injuries to scores of others.

DPO Mohammad Azhar Khan said that constable Riaz Khan was seriously injured in the blast and was under treatment in Peshawar. “Riaz’s head and eye injuries proved fatal,” he remarked.

His funeral prayers were offered at Bachai which were attended by police and district administration officials.
