Gaza’s Government Media Office has issued a statement denouncing Israel for the reported attack on a UN site in Deir el-Balah, which it says has killed one foreign worker and seriously injured five others, Al Jazeera reports.

“This crime,” it said, “[is] part of a deliberate policy targeting UN and humanitarian institutions to prevent them from fulfilling their duty to assist the Palestinian people.”

“We call on the United Nations to take a clear and strong stance regarding this crime, and to act immediately” to hold Israel accountable, the office added, while calling for an “urgent international investigation”.
