QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has expressed concern over unemployment among educated youth.

He said the government was well aware of their hardships and was committed to addressing the issue by creating new opportunities for government jobs.

On Saturday, several current and former parliamentarians, including Member of the National Assembly Jamal Shah Kakar, Provincial Minister Mir Asim Kurd Gello, Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Nawabzada Zafarullah Zehri, former minister Mujeebur Rehman Muhammad and former MPA Majeed Khan Achakzai met the governor.

The governor assured that the recruitment process for government jobs would be merit-based, without any financial incentives to ensure deserving youth are employed based on their skills and capabilities.

He stressed the importance of good governance and transparent job market where talent and hard work are recognised.

Mr Mandokhail highlighted the urgent need to restore the credibility of institutions and strengthen public trust in the heads of these institutions.

He emphasised the importance of instilling a sense of responsibility, transparency and self-accountability in all institutions to ensure that they benefit ordinary citizens.

Governor Mandokhail urged the heads of all government departments to improve their performances and take practical steps to eliminate the sense of alienation and deprivation among the people.
