GUJRAT: The immigration authorities of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday offloaded an Italy-bound passenger at Sialkot airport for attempting to travel on fake documents.

An official of FIA said that during immigration clearance of flight G9-553, a passenger, Abdul Wahab of Sialkot, was departing for Italy.

Scrutiny of documents showed that he was traveling on fake Italian travel document/ Soggiorno and upon further probe, he revealed that he had arrived from Italy on 24.11.2024 but failed to acquire residence status in Italy.

Therefore, he approached an agent Umar alias Sam of Lahore, presently residing in Italy, for 2000 Euros to obtain Italian Card /Soggiorno.

The offloaded passenger was later sent to the FIA anti-human trafficking cell in Gujranwala for further action.

Meanwhile, FIA Gujranwala claimed to have arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a human trafficking case from Narowal district of the region.

The accused, Muhammad Javed of Nadali, was extorting Rs 275000 from the complainant on pretext of sending his son to Muscat on employment visa.
