KARACHI: A rickshaw passenger was killed and another injured when a fast-moving dumper truck collided with the three-wheeler on main Hub River Road on Saturday morning, police said.

Mochko SHO Faisal Latif said that the errant driver managed to speed away after the fatal accident.

He said that two men suffered injuries in the accidents and they were taken to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, where Shah Mohammed, 45, was pronounced dead on arrival. He said that condition of injured Imran was stated to be critical.

He said the deceased had arrived here from Pishin to meet his relatives in Naval Colony.

Meanwhile, a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident on the main National Highway on Saturday.

Shah Latif Town SHO Raja Abbas said the man, who appears to be in his early 30s, was crossing the highway near Anwar Baloch Hotel in Malir when he was run over and killed by a hit-and-run driver.

He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead.
