RAWALPINDI: Six people, including three women, were killed, and two others were injured in two road accidents in Rawat and Kahuta on Thursday night.

The first accident happened in Rawat when a car collided with a truck killing four people, including two women travelling in the car. The car was heading towards Chak Beli Khan while the truck was coming from the opposite side.

The deceased were identified by the police as Mrs Waqar, Ms Shahnaz, Junaid Shafiq and Mohammad Junaid. According to police the cause of the accident was speeding. The truck driver managed to escape from the scene. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

In another road traffic accident, two people were killed while three others were injured in Kahuta area.

According to police the accident happened when a carry van and a car collided at Azad Patan. As a result, the carry van plunged into a ravine leaving a mother and her son killed and injuring three others, including the driver. The deceased belonged to Gujar Khan. The car driver managed to escape from the scene.
