ISLAMABAD: Two persons, including a woman, were killed while another was injured in separate road accidents in Islamabad, police said on Friday.

In the first incident, a rider of an online ride-hailing service was killed while his passenger was injured after being hit by a speeding vehicle in Sector I-11/3.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Naeem and the injured as Nasib Ullah.

According to the police, Nasih Ullah booked a ride using an online service and Naeem, the deceased, picked him up from Sector G-12. When they reached I-11/3, a speeding vehicle approached them from I-11/2 and hit the motorcycle, injuring bother riders.

They were rushed to the hospital where Naeem died after succumbing to his injuries. The Sabzi Mandi police have registered a case and started an investigation.

Likewise, a woman was killed after being hit by a vehicle in the Chatha Bakhtawar area of Chak Shehzad. The deceased was identified as Nahid Sultana.

The police said the deceased was crossing Park Road with her daughter when a vehicle hit her. She was reportedly shifted to a nearby hospital in a critical condition but she couldn’t survive. A case was registered by the Shahzad Town police against the vehicle’s driver.
