DADU, April 25: Eleven people, four of them Hesco employees and three police officials, were injured when a Hesco team tried to cut power supply to 29 villages.

A Hesco team headed by Dadu-II SDO Zainul Abedin disconnected power supply of 29 villages, owing to outstanding power dues.

The villages are: Changlani, Khudabad, Phakko, Talbani, Mangnejo, Chakar Khan Lund, Umer Panhwar, Pir Tarho, Din Mohammad Shahani, Gul Mohammad Shahani, Ghulam Khushik, Pandhi Siyal, Pir Gunio, Pechuho and Mureed Khushik.

The villagers resisted while the team was disconnecting power supply to Piyro Arain village.

The villagers took away conductors and 60 meter PVC cable. The Saeedpur police on the complaint of line superintendent

Ali Mohammad Solangi registered an FIR against seven villagers.

The SDO Hesco said that Rs112.77 million was outstanding against 3,829 defaulters, electricity of 29 villages was disconnected due to arrears.

He said that villagers in Piyro Arain had not paid their bills amounting Rs300,000 for three years.
