Gepco asks Wasa to clear dues

GUJRANWALA, April 25: The Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) on Tuesday issued final notice to Wasa to clear outstanding dues of Rs8.6 million along with the current bill by April 27 or face power suspension to all water supply and disposal stations

The Wasa has meanwhile sought funds from the Punjab government to clear the dues.

Meanwhile, a Gepco checking team of Ladheywala subdivision led by line superintendent was beaten up and held hostage by electricity thieves for severing connections in Kot Dewan Chand on Tuesday.

It was stated that landlord Binyamin was stealing power for his tube well. When the Gepco team reached there and severed the connection, a dozen men attacked it with clubs. — Correspondent
