LAHORE: A vintage cars show organised in connection with the Horse and Cattle Show 2025 attracted a number of visitors who reached Polo Ground, GOR-I, to see the old cars of various companies. Organised by the Vintage Classic Car Club of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), the event showcased 100 vintage unique luxury vehicles and scooters and bikes.

According to a spokesperson for the PHA, the authority organising the Horse and Cattle Show, among the notable entries were rare cars like the 1928 Rolls Royce (used by the Nawab of Bahawalpur), 1930 Packard (USA) and 1930 Cadillac (USA). Car enthusiasts from all over the country participated in the event.

International experts, including Olivia Farnse (France), Aini Sofi (France) and Fatimi Nasir along with Kh Babar Salman from Pakistan took on the judging duties for the competition. The event was presided over by Mohsin Ikram, the president of Vintage & Classic Car Club of Pakistan.

Owners of the vehicles showcased were awarded trophies and certificates for their meticulous care and maintenance of their vehicles. The stunning collection of rare vehicles captured the attention of the attendees while the combination of classic and modern cars added to the charm of the event.

“This car show is a remarkable opportunity for car lovers,” said a participant while talking to the media.

Meanwhile, a two-day Kabaddi and Sher-e-Punjab Dangal, organised by PHA at Jilani Park as a part of the Horse and Cattle Show 2025, concluded. The Dangal featured one-on-one traditional wrestling matches where wrestlers aged 10 to 35 showcased their skills. A total of 25 matches were held among 50 wrestlers, including six major bouts. Awais Pahlwan Rustam-e-Sahiwal defeated Tayyab Raza Awan Pahlwan Rustam-e-Lahore to claim the title of Sher-e-Punjab.

In the two-day Kabaddi tournament, the final match was played between Pakistan Wapda and Pakistan Air Force teams. Wapda won the match with 35 points, securing victory by a margin of 15 points. The PAF secured the second position while the Pakistan Army team claimed the third position.

The events were attended by special guests, including President of the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation and Provincial Minister for Industry and Trade Chaudhry Shafay Hussain; Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora; Provincial Minister for Irrigation Kazim Pirzada and Pakistan Kabaddi Federation General Secretary Muhammad Sarwar. The special guests distributed prizes worth Rs1.6 million among the players of the top three teams, along with traditional wrestling trophies (Gurzs).

In the Dangal, the wrestlers were awarded cash prizes worth Rs600,000, trophies and the Sher-e-Punjab wrestling Gurz.

A large number of spectators appreciated the organisers for successful Kabaddi and Dangal competitions.

CITY ADMIN: MCL Administrator and Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza affirmed the district administration’s commitment to provide a clean and healthy environment for the Lahorites. In line with this commitment, according to a spokesman, City Assistant Commissioner Babar Ali Rai supervised drains desilting operation in the historic Mori Gate area. The operation focused on cleaning the drains, removing silt and waste.
