Israel army says increasing ‘operational readiness’ around Gaza

The Israeli army has said it is increasing “operational readiness” around Gaza after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the country was prepared to resume fighting against Hamas, AFP reports.

“Following a situational assessment, it was decided to increase the operational readiness in the area surrounding the Gaza Strip,” the army said in a statement.
