QUETTA, April 24: Five members of a family were killed and two others suffered serious burn injuries after gas leaking from a kitchen outlet triggered an explosion.

The accident occurred in the house of Kamaluddin in the Baloch Colony area, a city suburb near the Eastern Bypass, when his wife tried to light the oven in the kitchen, which was filled up with gas leaking from the pipeline.

The explosion was so powerful that walls of the house collapsed. It also caused a fire.

Four members of the family were killed instantaneously.
