ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Rana Sanaullah Khan on Wednesday said that government employees will get maximum financial benefit in upcoming federal budget.

Chairing a meeting of a committee, which was formed to look into issues of government employees, Rana Sanaullah said this committee in its report will recommend to the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to reverse notification of 25pc tax rebate of government teachers.

Teaching community has been protesting against withdrawal of 25pc income tax rebate.

All Government Employees Grand Alliance has also been demanding to end disparity in salaries and implementation of pay and pension commission’s recommendations.

The IPC adviser said that this committee would recommend restoration of tax rebate and increase in allowances of differently-abled employees. He said that in upcoming budget, all government employees will get maximum financial relief.

He said that a subcommittee has already been working to finalise recommendations related to salaries disparity issue and other issues of employees.

Mr Rana, however, said that due to IMF programme, government has been facing difficulty in accepting all demands of government employees, adding that maximum steps would be taken to resolve issues of employees.

Besides others, the meeting was attended by PML-N MNA form Islamabad Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, representatives of Islamabad police and representatives of government employees.
