LAHORE: Olympus, a bay horse expertly ridden by Shakeel Mahmood, dominated the field to win the Faiz Ahmad Faiz Cup here at the Lahore Winter Meeting on Sunday.

Owned by Haji Chaudhry Asghal Ali and trained by Sohail Aziz, Olympus burst out of the starting gates, taking an early lead in the 1,200-metre handicap race. The favourite never looked back, crossing the finish line in style to claim the coveted cup.

In the supporting event, the Sher Garh Cup, also a 1,200-metre handicap race, chestnut filly Winx emerged victorious under the guidance of jockey Safdar Hussain.

Trained by Rashid Latif, Winx was owned by Ahsan Abbas, who received the cup from Lahore Race Club steward Fawad Ahmad Cheema.
