CHAKWAL: A man, his son and brother were gunned down in Talagang’s village Nakka Kahout over a land dispute on Wednesday.

According to police, a land dispute was being run between Anwar Beg and two brothers, Jabbar Ahmed and Naveed Iftikhar. A civil suit between the two parties was still sub-judice in a local court.

“On Wednesday, Anwar Beg tied his cows on the disputed land, which added fuel to fire,” a police official told Dawn. Jabbar along with his brother Naveed and son Umair Iftikhar reached the spot and asked the former why he tied his cows on the disputed land, the official added.

Both the parties exchanged harsh words and the accused Anwar Beg went to his house, took a rifle and went upstairs and allegedly opened fire on the three persons from the roof, the official added.

Rescue 1122 received a call in which the caller told that three persons were injured due to firing. A team of Rescue 1122 personnel rushed to the scene and they found Jabbar Ahmed dead.

The dead body and the two injured were rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where the two injured also expired.

The accused managed to escape from the scene.
