DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has stressed the need for taking immediate measures to remove sense of deprivation among people of tribal districts.
Talking to a delegation of tribesmen, who called on him at Kundi Modal Farmhouse, he said that following merger of tribal areas into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, federal government provided funds to the province for addressing grievances of tribal people. Provincial government misused those funds, focusing on its own benefits rather than solving issues of tribal districts, he added.
“As a result, voices are now being raised against merger of Fata into the province,” he said. He added that he apprised the prime minister about the unrest among tribal people and was continuing his efforts to resolve the issue.
The governor said that he wanted to find solutions to problems of tribal districts. He also issued directives to relevant authorities for immediate resolution of various issues raised by the delegation.
