As the Israeli military and the government gear up for a potential breakdown of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, the prime minister says work will continue to bring back captives, Al Jazeera reports.

“We will continue to act resolutely and tirelessly until we return all of our hostages – both living and dead,” reads a post on Netanyahu’s X account.

He expressed condolences for the “bitter news” of the passing of Shlomo Mansour, the elderly captive who was confirmed dead in Gaza as we reported earlier.

Netanyahu said Mansour was “murdered and kidnapped to Gaza” by Hamas, adding that “we will not be silent” until his body is returned to a grave in Israel.
