Ram Ben-Barak, a member of Israel’s parliament (Knesset) from the centrist opposition party Yesh Atid, has said the demonstrations in Israel pressured the government to make a deal with Hamas for a ceasefire and the release of captives in Gaza, Al Jazeera reports.
“If it weren’t for the protests and the pressure from the families, there would have been no deal to this day and no one would have returned,” he told Israeli Army Radio.
