BAJAUR: The Bajaur Peace Action Committee is all set to organise its much-publicised peace rally on Sunday (today) as it obtained permission from the district administration on Saturday.

Briefing reporters after a meeting to review arrangements for ‘Bajaur Aman Pasoon’, the committee members, including its chairman Sahibzada Haroon Rasheed, Malik Gul Kareem Khan and Haji Sardar Khan, claimed they had ensured that foolproof security was provided to the participants of the rally to be held in Khar Bazaar.

The committee members informed the reporters that besides deployment of scores of policemen around the venue of the rally, walk-through gates had also been installed at the entry points to avoid any unpleasant incident.

They expressed the hope that thousands of people from across the district would participate in the Aman Pasoon.

“This rally is meant to convey a message that the people of Bajaur are peace-loving citizens, and want an end to lawlessness on their land,” a committee member asserted.

The action committee members urged the people from all walks of life to ensure their active participation in the rally just for ‘their safe and secure future’ as such gatherings were imperative to push the government to fulfill its constitutional responsibility of providing people with security.

They said the district administration had assured them of ensuring ‘foolproof’ security of the participants.
