The health ministry in Gaza has just released its latest report on the number of people who were killed and wounded by Israel’s war on the territory, Al Jazeera reports.

In a statement, the ministry said a total of 26 fatalities — four newly killed and 22 body recoveries — as well as five wounded people had arrived in hospitals during the past 48 hours.

It added that 572 deaths were added to the overall number of people killed in Israeli attacks after their data was verified by the judicial committee following up on the file of reports and missing persons.

As a result, the confirmed number of people killed in Israeli attacks since October 7 has risen to at least 48,181, with 111,638 others wounded.

A number of victims still remain under the rubble, while the Government Media Office in Gaza has put the death toll to at least 61,709 people, saying thousands of people who were missing under the rubble are now presumed dead.
