QUETTA, April 22: The Balochistan government has accepted the resignation of Khuzdar District Nazim Sardar Naseer Mosyani. According to official sources, the provincial local government department issued the notification on Saturday after the chief minister accepted the resignation.

Mr Mosyani, a supporter of the Balochistan National Party (Mengal), had tendered resignation on April 9, alleging that district officials and the provincial government were bypassing him in official matters. He said he had not been into confidence while making appointments in various departments.

Under the Local Government Ordinance, the district naib nazim will run affairs of the district for 10 days and then he will call a meeting of the district council to elect an officiating nazim till fresh election is held for a new district nazim.
