SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: The provincial government has ordered the Upper South Waziristan district administration and heads of all line departments to shift their offices from Tank to Laddha area here within a week.

Mehsud and Burki tribal elders said on Saturday that the decision was taken after they highlighted the poor service delivery in Upper South Waziristan as its administrative offices were located in Tank.

They hailed the decision and said that it was a positive step towards the development of Upper South Waziristan.

It is worth noting that the merger of former Fata into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in May 2018 was aimed at developing the tribal areas. However, more than six years have passed since the integration, but the administrative offices could not be relocated to Upper South Waziristan.

The shifting of the district administration offices to Laddha is a crucial step towards addressing the region’s development needs.
