ICA win Blind cricket series

ISLAMABAD, April 21: The Islamabad Cricket Association of the Blind took an unassailable 2-0 lead against an Indian Punjab team whom they defeated by five wickets on Friday at the F-9 Park Ground.

In the second match of a three-game series, Zeeshan Abbasi who scored a fine 102 and Anees Javed (86) starred in victory as Islamabad overhauled Punjab's score of 320 for seven, in the 21st over losing five wickets.

The visitors' total in the allotted 35 overs revolved round Garpreet Singh's innings of 96 and Maninder Singh who scored 90 runs.

In the first match on Thursday, Islamabad had beaten the tourists by eight wickets.

The third and final game is on Monday.
