LAHORE: Multan Commissioner Amir Kareem Khan directed on Friday the establishment of designated parking areas, routes, and filling points for LPG container trucks.
At a meeting, the commissioner emphasised that only containers certified by Ogra and relevant regulatory bodies would be permitted on the roads.
Civil Defense was instructed to launch a crackdown on illegal mini petrol pumps, unauthorised LPG refilling stations, and unsafe storage warehouses.
Officials from Ogra, the Explosives Department, and Parco provided a briefing on safety regulations and compliance measures.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Bukhari stated that the investigation into the Fahad Town container explosion had been expanded. High-level technical teams from Ogra and relevant departments will present a comprehensive report on the causes of the incident.
A technical inspection of the accident site and affected areas has been planned. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also ordered a complete report on the causes of the explosion.
DC Bukhari assured that all culprits and mafia involved in the incident would be brought to justice, and assistance would be provided to the victims, with their homes fully restored.
He emphasised that the inquiry committee would also present recommendations to prevent such incidents in the future. All aspects of the incident will be reviewed, and an inquiry report will be prepared.Meanwhile, an NGO of Lahore established a camp for treatment of animals injured and burned in an LPG gas tanker explosion in the Fahad Town area of Multan.
The explosion caused significant damage to the area and 10 people lost their lives while 38 others were injured. The people were rushed to hospitals but the animals remained tied up and suffered from the cruel fire, getting injured and sustaining third-degree burns.
The NGO established a camp in the area for free medical aid of all injured and burned animals.
The teams of doctors and assistants were visiting the affected area with high-grade medicines and providing free treatment to many animals.
