SAHIWAL, April 21: Farid Town police on Friday registered a case against a lady presiding officer for changing election results of a candidate for the general councillor seat.
The lady presiding officer had declared Muhammad Aslam successful on Aug 18 last. In recounting, the Pakpattan district & sessions judge declared Iftikhar Ali successful. The winning candidate lodged a case against the lady presiding officer. No arrest has so far been made in this respect.
LOOTED: Four armed bandits on Thursday night looted the house of a farmer at Chak 178/9-L.
The gunmen entered the house of Shahnawaz, held the women inmates hostage and locked them in a room. Later, they scooped Rs50,000 in cash, ornaments worth Rs300,000 and a licensed gun and disappeared.
Dera Rahim police have registered a case.
Meanwhile, Chichawatni Sadar police on Thursday night arrested two proclaimed offenders after a raid at Chak 110/7-R.
POs Ghulam Farid, Waryam and their two accomplices had looted Rs270,000 in cash, 2,500 dollars and ornaments worth Rs1 million from the house of factory owner Iftikhar Ali Gujjar in Chak 37/12-L about a month back.
A case has been instituted against the accused.
