TIMERGARA, April 21: Clerks in Dir Lower on Thursday observed a pen-down strike on a call given by central leaders of the All Pakistan Clerk Association (APCA). They also held a rally in the education complex, Balambat Colony, which was addressed by Dir Lower president of APCA Muhammad Shaeer Tajak, general secretary Muhammad Salim Khan, Hanifur Rahman, Ibadur Rahman and general secretary All Teachers Association Dir Lower Haji Rooh Zamin Khan.

The leaders said that the government should pay heed to the demands of its low-cadre employees.

They said that the pen-down strike would continue while a protest rally would be held on April 27 in front of the DCO Dir Lower office if their problems were not solved.

Two resolutions were passed; one demanding increase in the un-attractive area allowance and the other for upward revision of pay scales.
