LAHORE: As many as 51 couples tied the knot in a mass marriage ceremony under Dhee Rani Programme in Multan on Friday.

Provincial Minister for Communication and Works and Law Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharath was the chief guest.

Special Dhee Rani Salami cards were presented, granting each couple Rs100,000. Additionally, each couple received a gift package – a double bed, mirror, dinner set, utensils, fan and other household items.

A Christian couple also participated in the ceremony, reflecting inclusivity. The ceremony concluded with prayers for the happiness and prosperity of the newlyweds.

A traditional Seraiki Jhumar dance added vibrancy to the occasion, and a luncheon was arranged for all attendees.

Earlier, Mr Bharath chaired a briefing at the Commissioner’s Office in Multan regarding the CM’s Key Performance Indicators and development schemes. He emphasised that development projects will be proposed in consultation with assembly members and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and quality with zero tolerance for compromise.

He learned that Multan division holds a prominent position in the CM’s Key Performance Indicators.

Monuments have been constructed at various city intersections with the support of philanthropists, and efforts are underway to identify key locations for further upgrades.

The operationalisation of water filtration plants and the implementation of a traffic management plan were discussed.
