ISLAMABAD: Performance indicators will be established to improve the efficiency of all units after several weaknesses were identified in the capital police.

This was decided in a conference of operational commanders at the Safe City Islamabad, which was presided over by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, on Wednesday. All DIGs, AIGs, SSPs and SPs participated in the conference.

The IGP Islamabad said in the last 15 days, all units were visited and performance of all establishments within these units was reviewed. Several weaknesses were also identified in the performance of the units.

It was therefore decided to establish performance indicators to improve the efficiency of all units.

He further mentioned that the implementation of right-sizing of officers and the proper utilisation of resources had been initiated in all units. In future, reports will be requested from independent sources for each unit.
