ISLAMABAD: A fitness gala held in the federal capital on Saturday called for adopting healthy life choices and shunning sedentary way of life.
Organised by the capital police in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) at the Police Lines Headquarters Islamabad, the ‘Health and Fitness Gala 2025’ also paid rich tributes to police martyrs and their families.
Senate Chairman Yusuf Raza Gilani attended the event as the chief guest while Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, foreign diplomats, businessmen, doctors, police officers and their families were also in attendance.
Addressing the event, Gilani dedicated the event to martyrs of the police and their families.
“The police force works tirelessly to ensure peace, putting their lives at risk daily. Police play a key role in maintaining peace and protecting citizens and the martyrs of the police force are our pride,” he said.
He added that healthy citizens create a better society.
Additionally, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, in his address, remarked that the police have made sacrifices in the war against terrorism and these sacrifices would not go in vain.
During the gala, medical experts conducted health check-ups on police officers and their families and offered valuable advice on leading a healthy and fit life.
Organisers said the gala aimed to raise awareness about healthy living and encourage better lifestyles among citizens.
