LAHORE: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) inaugurated on Friday the door-to-door waste collection service in PP-168 constituency.

The inauguration ceremony was held in union councils (UCs) 110 and 111, marking the beginning of the door-to-door waste collection service in these areas, where Sports and Labour Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar was the chief guest.

LWMC Chairman Malik Bilal Zulfiqar Khokhar and CEO Babar Sahib Din also attended the event.

The LWMC CEO, on the occasion, said that CM’s “Suthra Punjab” initiative was making significant progress.

He mentioned that waste collection had already begun in over 35 UCs across Lahore, with eight to ten loader rickshaws assigned to each council and the service will be expanded to two new UCs each day. By March, LWMC aims to cover all the 274 UCs of Lahore.

The service has already been launched in areas such as Niaz Beg Pind, Hanjarwal, Bara Street, and Goshteala Bazaar.

Additionally, LWMC teams are also active in areas like Takiya Numberdara Da, Ahbab Colony, Jamal Colony, Amna Park, and Hashim Nagar.

INSPECTION: Lahore Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza on Friday visited UC 49 and inspected various ongoing development schemes there under the Lahore Development Plan.

The DC, on the occasion, emphasised that development works should be completed on time, ensuring the quality.
