Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said the Gaza ceasefire deal will come into effect on January 19 (Sunday).
He said phase I of the agreement would go on for 42 days and include a ceasefire and withdrawal of Israeli forces to the east away from populated areas.
He said Israeli forces would be positioned at the border of the Gaza Strip, allowing for the prisoner and hostage swaps, along with return of displaced people to their residences.
